AcqCentric was founded in 2015 by the husband and wife team of Angela & Chuck Howald. Both are graduates of the United States Military Academy (WestPoint) and served honorably in the Officer Corps of the U.S. Army. Leveraging years of first hand experience negotiating the strategic defense industry landscape they bring knowledge and expertise to gain an in-depth understanding to the issues involved with program management, technology integration and navigating governmental and military agencies. The company is based in Huntsville, Alabama.


Angela Howald, (CEO) is a practiced project manager, systems engineer, logistician and human resources manager. With experience in completing complex projects in pressure filled environments she served as a Captain in the U.S. Army where she deployed to Bosnia in support of Operation Joint Forge, Kosovo in support of Operation Joint Guardian, and Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Angela served in multiple combat zones and is a decorated combat veteran with a Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Marymount University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy.

Angela currently manages the systems engineering and integration support to the Sensors Directorate in the Missile Defense Agency. They are developing new X-Band and S-Band Radar capabilities to meet Element Specifications and BMDS Phased Implementation Plan timelines. She is responsible for daily operations of the organization and managing a small business to include contract management, accounting, security, administration, human resources, reporting, and information technology.


Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Charles (Chuck) Howald, (President) has over 22 years of leadership positions and air and missile defense experience with the Air Defense Artillery branch of the US Army or in the Missile Defense Agency. An award winning program manager with a proven record of excellence in weapon system design, development, and fielding; he is recognized at the highest levels of Federal government as an winning team builder with an ability to analyze complex problems and derive optimal solutions.

Chuck served in the 82nd Airborne Division and was Company Commander in the XVIII Airborne Corps. He designed and executed operational tests for the Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) and was test and operations officer with the Close Combat Test Directorate. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) from the United States Military Academy.

Chuck is the Sensor Directorate Senior Program Integrator for all Sensors Directorate X-Band and S-Band radars, including Sea Based X-Band Radar (SBX), AN/TPY-2 Radar, and the Long Range Discrimination Radar.  He aligns development efforts with the Ballistic Missile Defense System Element Capability Specifications and MDA master integration plans, and develops strategic solutions for programmatic issues with other MDA organizations (THAAD, BC) and Warfighter Combatant Commands.
